Kind Strangers
In 2021, designer Faraz Mohammad traveled to India and uncovered something striking - artisan workshops were closing, and skilled makers were losing livelihoods. Traditional crafts that had survived for generations were at risk of disappearing.
Faraz didn’t just observe - he acted. With no prior contacts or experience, he set out to build a bridge between thoughtful design and artisan heritage. Through the kindness of strangers - weavers, dyers, embroiderers, and more - a community formed. Together, they blended contemporary ideas from Los Angeles with age-old techniques from Indian makers. The result is Kind Strangers: a collection that honours craft, supports ethical work, and brings soulful textiles into modern homes.
Every product reflects resilience, collaboration, and purpose. When you choose Kind Strangers, you’re not just decorating a space - you’re helping keep a tradition alive and empowering the people who make it.
